He has a few bad habits we need to break, but so far things are going quite well with the little guy

Yeah, starting a few days ago slackadelic.com or at least one of the domains hosted on my server, was hit with a DDoS.. pretty bad one too.

I have to say, kudos, whoever authored the attack.. Amazing how much data a few hosts can send at you in a matter of minutes.. and bring you to your knees. However, the server was only hosted on a 1Mbit line, so instead of taking just my box down, it actually caused issues for the entire provider customer base.

I’ve since migrated to one VPS IP and that got hit as well as DNS migrated… I then moved to a new IP and slowly rolled things over to a proper A record. I really hope that whomever it is is done and I hope that whomever pissed you off, does not do it again as I can not stand to go through that again. I nearly lost my hosting all together because of it.

So, lets just.. move on shall we.

Well, we’ve been in the new house since the 14th of December of 2007. Things have come together quite well. Only ONE room to sort out in the house and that will be the computer room. That has fallen by the wayside until our DSL is active which should be in the next day or so… hopefully.

Once that goes active, I’ll be concentrating on getting everything up and running and get it semi-back-to-normal.

Well, we finally finished up on Sunday. No, we weren’t moving things back and forth the entire time, but we had taken our moving truck back Friday night after we finished with all the big big stuff and used our vehicles to move the loose ends.

Finally turned the keys in to the office for the old place!! What a relief. Moving.. sucks, but its worth it

Well, today is the day that we close on our brand new home. We planned on moving most of everything tomorrow morning and afternoon, but unfortunately mother nature did not see it that way. We are now scrambling a bit to make sure we get the truck today so its waiting for us when we get home.

Thankfully, my brother will be showing up this evening to give us a hand. Wish us luck!

A Catholic priest and a nun were taking a rare afternoon off and enjoying a round of golf. The priest stepped up to the first tee and took a mighty swing. He missed the ball entirely and said ‘Shit, I missed.’ The good Sister told him to watch his language. On his next swing, he missed again. ‘Shit, I missed.’ ‘Father, I’m not going to play with you if you keep swearing,’ the nun said tartly. The priest promised to do better and the round continued. On the 4th tee, he misses again. The usual comment followed. Sister is really mad now and says, ‘Father John, God is going to strike you dead if you keep swearing like that.’ On the next tee, Father John swings and misses again. ‘Shit, I missed.’ A terrible rumble is heard and a gigantic bolt of lightning comes out of the sky and strikes Sister Marie dead in her tracks. And from the sky comes a booming voice ……. ‘Shit, I missed.’

With Christmas just around the corner I thought a change of scenery was called for. Merry Christmas and the count down begins… *hint* look up at the top of the page

Ok, its been a long while since I last posted, but things have been quite busy for me and my family. We made a visit out to the construction site last weekend and they now have the final touches on. Well, most of them. Driveway is in, side walks are in, they have most of the exterior finished up.. A/C, gas lines, water, etc. The only thing on the outside that we see that still needs to be finished up is one of the outside faucets and the lamp post that will be out in the yard.

We are going to try and make a trip out again this weekend so I can get some pictures of the house as-is and get those posted. Yes, I’ve had my family and some friends say, “Where are the updated pictures!?!” Well, they are coming
